Joey Jordison, dopo la sua apparizione ai Golden Gods Awards (qui), ha rilasciato un’intervista esclusiva alla rivista Metal Hammer UK, che anticipa alcuni stralci in attesa dell’intervista completa sul numero in uscita il 21 giugno.
Joey ha rivelato a Metal Hammer di essere stato cacciato dagli Slipknot via email ma nonostante questo non esclude la possibilità di discutere faccia a faccia con la band una eventuale reunion.
“(…) Onestamente, non vorrei esagerare, ma se fosse possibile vorrei incontrarli. Vorrei vederli, abbracciarli e sentire quell’energia che avevamo quando eravamo giovani e affamati. Sono i miei fratelli. Ci abbracceremmo, parleremmo e faremmo cazzate come abbiamo sempre fatto. Stavamo seduti tutta la notte a discutere di quello che avremmo voluto fare. Ed è così che vorrei fare. Deve essere di persona. Se dovesse accadere sarebbe fantastico, ma si vedrà col tempo.” (…)
“I’d want to see them, just hug it out and feel that energy that we had when we were fucking young and hungry and all that shit. They’re my brothers. We’d hug and talk and do shit like we used to do. We used to sit up all night along planning this shit and what we wanted to do. So that’s how I’d wanna do it. It’d have to be in person. If it happened, that would be fucking awesome, but only time will tell.”
Sull’ultimo album “.5: The Gray Chapter”, in cui ha suonato il nuovo batterista Jay Weinberg, Joey ha dichiarato:
“Ho ascoltato il disco molte volte e penso che sia grandioso. Sono contento che siano andati avanti e che portino avanti il nome, perchè è importante per i fans.”
“I listened to the whole record multiple times. And I think it’s great. It’s fucking cool and I’m glad they moved on. I’m glad they’re carrying on the name, because what’s important is the fans.”
